Cell phones. We all need them. We can't live without them. But face it - they are a distraction. They distract you from engaging in class (multi-tasking is a myth), and more importantly from my perspective, they distract me from doing my job. I give you 100% every time I am in the classroom, and it takes focus. When I see someone with their hands under the desk looking down, it distracts me. I lose my focus. It takes away my mojo. It prevents me from performing my job at the high standards I set for myself. And it is therefore diminishing the classroom experience for your classmates, which is unfair and unacceptable.

If you are expecting an important call or text during class, just let me know beforehand. Otherwise, SILENCE and STOW.
