We are in what is called a professional relationship. While I hope that relationship is friendly, I'm not your friend. So when you are sending me an email, please keep it professional. You are not texting a friend, you are communicating with your professor. The guy who controls your grade. Manners count.

Dear Professor. Please. If you would. Thank you. I appreciate it.

So ditch the abbreviations, and the emojis, and the text-grammar, and lose any sense of anger or entitlement you may be feeling at the time. Your message will be much better received. Or better yet, consider if facetime might be a better option.
