Sometimes students desperately need help in the class, but are afraid to ask. They are afraid it will make them look unsophisticated or clueless or stupid. It won't. I would much rather have you come talk to me about problems, whatever they may be, while they are still manageable rather than have you suffer in silence.

But I'm not a mind reader. I won't know you are struggling unless you tell me. Especially early in the semester, I am not able to differentiate between students who are in need of more assistance, and student who just don't care.

I'm not here to judge. I'm here to help. So if you are feeling overwhelmed or simply confused, let me know. Come talk to me. Maybe I can help.
